Kapit Adventure Tours

is a Sarawak-based company managed by Tan Teck Chuan (otherwise known as Chuan), a Chinese businessman and shop owner native to Kapit. He speaks English, Iban, Hokkien, Mandarin, and Malay and has had many years of travel and tour experience.

For the usual small groups, couples, or individuals, our accompanying party from Kapit consists of two people; Chuan and a highly experienced, competent and reliable native Iban boat driver who speaks a little English and who is constantly available to help travelers.

We respect that many western visitors will not be used to the conditions of longhouse life. We are experienced in providing constant company and physical assistance as needed. Language translation is also available - anything to make the visit useful, enjoyable, and as safe as possible.

We pick up additional Iban company appropriate to our needs and activities at the first Iban settlement we visit. Our group of Iban companions will vary during our travel together. They have interesting personal stories to share with those who ask.

In addition, travelers will meet native family members of all ages in the host longhouses or family biliks in which we normally stay overnight, as well as the other occupants of the longhouses.
